Nicky Hunt joins broadcast team as live analyst for the upcoming season

Nicky Hunt shoots during the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Former world number one compound archer Nicky Hunt will act as the live analyst on the world feed and official streams shown on World Archery’s digital platforms from stages of the Hyundai Archery World Cup and other international events in 2021.

She joins lead Karim Bashir in the top commentary team for the upcoming season.

Hunt is an accomplished international compound archer, having won stages of the Archery World Cup in 2009 and 2010. She also took individual and team gold with England at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

Nicky last represented Great Britain in 2016 having switched to the recurve bowstyle. She is also a working physiotherapist and coaches archery.

Three-time Olympian Juan Rene Serrano will be the Spanish voice of international archery for 2021. Localised language versions of the 26-minute highlights programmes with content from each major event have been produced since the start of 2018.

World Archery has embraced some exciting and innovative remote production principles ahead of the upcoming international season.

The host broadcast team is now split in two, with commentary, graphics, animation and world feed all being managed from the QTV main control room in Glasgow. A smaller crew, using local resources, is deployed at each event to contribute a simple remote camera and audio mix, alongside interviews, colour and feature content.

This flexible approach is more environmentally sustainable, more cost-effective and delivers a better-quality world feed product to the sport’s broadcast partners.
