South African Archery Target for Development Orange Grove (RSA) – 29 March 2011   The Eastern Province Archery Association will be using the world ranking South African National Archery Championships as a platform to announce the introduction of its new pathway archery development programme.   According to Selwyn MOSKOVITZ, president of the National Federation (SANAA) "the goal in supporting the young archers is to enable underprivileged youth to become role models for others by allowing them to participate in a formal training programme and having the opportunity to both improve their individual abilities and also promote the ideals of sportsmanship, ethics and fair play."   "We have had a development programme in place for a number of years which is designed to take the young archer to efficiency in a 2-year period. However, we have found lacking a programme which will introduce the sport to the budding archer in just a few hours. Our new pathway programme called 'GIVE IT A GO', satisfies that requirement."   "The 'GIVE IT A GO' programme leads up to our FITA Arrows and Feathers programme which offers an internationally recognised achievement award."   SANAA will be hosting the 61st South African National Archery Championships at Rhodes University of Grahamstown from 3-7 April 2011.
