Spain mourns Osvaldo GARCIA CALVO
Lausanne – 28 April 2011
World Archery has received the sad news that Mr Osvaldo GARCIA CALVO (ESP) from Spain has passed away last week.
Many people will remember Osvaldo GARCIA CALVO as an International Judge. He was the successful competition manager of the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. He also initiated the Nature Games in Brazil which was a forerunner of Run Archery.
Osvaldo GARCIA CALVO had been fighting against lung cancer for five years and passed away in the year of his 72th birthday.
The FITA Council and the entire World Archery team send their sincere condolences to his family and friends and to the whole Spanish archery community.
