100 days to go: Copenhagen 2015
The World Archery Championships are approaching rapidly. Archery fans from 13 countries so far have secured themselves tickets for the finals in front of the Danish Parliament at Christiansborg Palace, and no less than 60 nations have already announced their participation in the event.
In Archery Denmark, the butterflies slowly begin to establish themselves in the stomach of President Rolf LIND.
”It is fantastic that so many participating countries have already signed up for the Championships in Denmark. Preparations are progressing according to plan and I now dream that our Danish archers will perform at their best at the World Championships, making it possible to end a large sport event in the heart of Copenhagen with seeing the Danish flag raised at the victory ceremony,” said Rolf.
The World Archery Championships take place from 26 July to 2 August. Lars Lundov, Chief Executive of Sport Event Denmark, which is a partner of the event, is getting excited:
”It is going to be fantastic and unique to experience a World Class Championship in the heart of our capital and with the Danish Parliament as the background for the finals,” says Lars.
The preliminary program takes place at Sundby Idrætspark, which includes the primary qualification tournament for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The World Championships finals take place in Christiansborg Palace Square.
“In 100 days, Copenhagen will once again be the centre of a huge international sport event, when the world’s best archers come to town,” says Lars Vallentin, Business Development Manager of Wonderful Copenhagen.
“The World Championship will take place in the middle of the summer, in a unique venue, making the pulsating centre of Copenhagen set the frame of the event. At the same time, both fans and tourists will have the opportunity to experience the many attractions the capital has to offer.”
