World Archery and the World Academy of Sport are offering scholarships towards postgraduate studies in sports management once again in 2023. The scholarships are available to international archers and administrators in archery organisations.

Since the programme began in 2020, 14 full or partial grants have been made to applicants from Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, India, Iran, Luxembourg, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the US Virgin Islands.

On completion of the four-module course, which is flexible and can be completed in between one and five years, participants receive a postgraduate certificate (PGCert) in international sports management. The certificate is globally recognised and worth 60 credits towards a master’s degree.

Two applicants from archery received scholarships for the last intake in January 2022: Brazilian Olympian Marina Canetta and India’s Rupesh Kumar Singh.

Ten months in, Canetta has praised the adaptability of the study programme: The format of the programme is great, as an online course makes it possible for me to maintain my athlete routine, with competitions and all, and still be able to study within my schedule.”

Applications for the February 2023 intake are being accepted until 13 December 2022 through an online form.
