World Archery Awards: Shortlist for 2025 athlete of the year revealed
The shortlist for the athlete of the year award has been released as part of the World Archery Awards, which feature a revised set of categories for this year’s edition.
The 2025 World Archery Awards will recognise outstanding performances and contributions across eight categories: archer, para archer, young archer (under-21), best team, fair play, judge, coach, and event of the year.
Nominees for the overall athlete of the year are Andrea Becerra, Brady Ellison, Mike Schloesser, Kang Chaeyoung, Nicolas Girard, Franck Eyeni, Andres Temiño, Mariana Bernal, Emircan Haney, and Mathias Fullerton.
The public is invited to pick their favourite archer on the www.worldarcheryawards.com website until 23:59 CET on 13 February 2026. The winner will be decided by the open and a press vote.
All other award categories will be decided by appointed panels.
The World Archery Awards were launched in 2011 to recognise excellence and contribution in the sport. They celebrate the athletes and support staff who have shaped the international archery season.
The winners for 2025 will be announced across online and in-person events in early 2026.
