Sarka Pultar Musilova breaks women’s W1 indoor world record at nationals
Czechia’s Sarka Pultar Musilova has set a new women’s W1 18-metre world record after shooting 586 points at the national para archery championships in Plzeň on 21 March.
The score also sets a new continental record. Both marks are subject to ratification.
The performance surpasses the previous best of 567 by 19 points, set just weeks earlier by Spain’s Isabel Fernandez Jimenez, and came during the 60-arrow qualification round at the one-day national event. Pultar Musilova had previously held the indoor world record with 559 in 2020.
“I’m very happy that I managed to break the world record,” she said. “My coach and I trained hard throughout the winter, and it paid off. Without the people who support me and work with me, this record would not have been possible.”
“For me, this is also a new challenge, as I would like to try to improve it even further in the coming years,” she added. “We’ll see how it goes.”
A three-time Paralympian (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), Pultar Musilova is one of the most consistent performers in the women’s W1 category, having won four Paralympic silver medals and one bronze across individual and mixed team events, alongside numerous international podium finishes. In Paris, she also set a Paralympic and world record in the outdoor W1 qualifying round.
The 35-year-old is the reigning World Archery Para Champion, having faced Fernandez Jimenez in the gold medal match in Gwangju in 2025, underlining the strength of competition in the division.
