The sport programme for the European Para Championships 2027 has been confirmed, with para archery among 12 sports set to feature in Geneva, Switzerland.

The event will take place in and around the Palexpo complex from 2 to 15 August 2027.

Expected to welcome more than 2000 athletes, the European Para Championships is the largest multisport event in Europe for para athletes. Geneva 2027 will mark the second edition of the event, following its inaugural staging in Rotterdam in 2023.

Para archery played a prominent role at the inaugural championships, where Türkiye topped the medal table with six gold medals ahead of Italy with five. The competition also produced multiple world records, including Italy’s Elisabetta Mijno scoring 674 points in the recurve women’s 72-arrow 70-metre round and Belgium’s Ruben Vanhollebeke shooting 496 points in the VI1 qualification event.

Para archery competition in Geneva is scheduled to begin on 10 August, with medals set to be awarded on 14 and 15 August.

Bringing together multiple European Championships under one banner, the event provides a platform for Europe’s best para athletes to compete for continental titles and, in some sports, qualification opportunities on the road to the LA28 Paralympic Games.

The para archery programme will feature recurve, compound and W1 individual events for men and women, alongside individual competitions for V1 and V2 athletes. Recurve, compound and W1 athletes will also contest men’s and women’s doubles, as well as mixed team events.

The European Para Championships help strengthen the visibility and development of para sport across the continent, showcasing elite performance and international rivalry on a single stage.
