Spain names teams for home World Cup stage
Spain has announced its recurve and compound teams for the fourth stage of the 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup, which takes place in Madrid on 7-12 July following selection events held in the Spanish capital in late June.
World Archery Champion Andres Temiño Mediel headlines the recurve men’s squad alongside Pablo Acha, Diego Conde Collar and Yun Sánchez Antoku. Three members of the lineup – Temiño, Acha and Conde – arrive in Madrid having won recurve men’s team silver at the 2026 European Championships in Antalya in May.
European silver medallist Elia Canales leads the women’s team with Paula Álvarez González, Leyre Fernandez Infante and Ines De Velasco. Canales also teamed with Temiño to claim recurve mixed team bronze in Antalya.
In compound, the men’s team features Álvaro De los Santos Sánchez, Javier Cerezo Bernet, Ramon Lopez and Gonzalo Linares, while Alexa Misis Olivares, Andrea Muñoz, Paula Diaz Morillas and Nur Gomez Bufi have been selected in the women’s squad.
Spain has also confirmed its recurve team for the Mediterranean Games in Taranto this August. Following Acha’s withdrawal, Temiño, Conde and Sánchez have been selected for the men’s event, while Canales, Álvarez and Fernández will contest the women’s competition.
The federation has also finalised its teams for the World Archery Field Championships and World Archery 3D Championships, both to be held in Yankton, USA, later this year. The field championships team will feature six athletes across recurve, compound and barebow, while eight archers have been selected to contest the 3D world championships in barebow, compound, longbow and traditional divisions.
The Madrid stage is the final event of the 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup season before the World Cup Final in Saltillo this September.
