Defending champ Noziglia leads as qualifying completes at Yankton World 3Ds

The defending World 3D champion, Italy's Cinzia Noziglia is leading the women‘s barebow field after qualification at the Yankton 2026 World Archery 3D Championships.

Noziglia scored 468 and 453 across the two days for a total of 921 to lead by twenty points from the USA‘s Ava Jones, her nearest rival. Jones, the 18-year-old who won the Tlaxcala 2026 Pan American Championships earlier in the year, briefly took the qualifying lead on the second day.

The Italian has had an extraordinary career with a World Field title in 2022, three World 3D titles (in 2015, 2022 and 2024) and two World Games titles (in 2017 and 2022), along with multiple team medals as well as European and indoor target titles.

However, she has not dominated her era quite as much in the last few years, with a string of silver medals at major championships. She crashed out of the individual competition at the Yankton 2026 World Archery Field Championships in the last 16, but recovered to take a mixed team barebow gold on the final day of competition with Matteo Uggeri.

France‘s David Jackson, twice a champion in this discipline, dominated the men‘s barebow field on the second day to finish on 948, 22 points ahead of second-placed Cesar Vera Bringas of Spain.

Austria’s Nico Wiener, reigning World Cup Final champion and a multiple world champion in field and 3D competition, led the compound men‘s field with a huge 1007 out of a maximum 1056 points. Wiener was the second seed at last week’s World Field, although went out in the last-16 of the individual competition.

The women’s compound list was headed by Ingrid Ronacher, also of Austria, with 968. Ronacher won this event in 2019 and medalled in 2022 and 2024.

Klaes Andersen of Denmark, the silver medalist at last year‘s European 3D Championships, was the best men‘s longbow with 838, with Cecile Lafaurie of France the top woman longbow on 730. Lafaurie is a former barebow winner of the Nimes tournament.

Zibrandt Christensen, also of Denmark and the champion in 2017, led the trad bow men‘s list with 913, while Claudia Weinberger of Austria, the 2022 champion, led the women's list with 804.

The competition continues with individual eliminations to take the field to the last 16 on Wednesday evening, followed by knockout eliminations in both individual and team competition on Thursday.
