The World Archery Para Championships 2009 officially open

Photo © Arthur NAULT   The opening ceremony of the World Arhery Para Championships in Nymburk, Czech Republic, was held on Sunday 16 August 2009 in glorious sunshine.   After the march past of the athletes, there was some excellent singing from the Bonifantes boys choir followed by a welcoming speeches by the OC Chairman Libor SNAJDR and the Mayor of Nymburk. The tournament was then opened by the President of the Czech Archery Association before we were treated to the spectacle of the Czech and FITA flags being carried down precisely to a spot on the field by parachutists.  
Tomorrow morning competition will commence with the long distances of the qualification FITA Round.   FITA Communication
