FITA at Indoor Tournament in Nimes next weekend Lausanne – 23 January 2007  The European Archery Tournament of Nimes, France will be take place on 26, 27 and 28 January 2007. FITA will have a stand at the Indoor Exposition of this competition together with the Organizing Committee of the Leipzig World Championships.   This will be the chance for FITA to have a direct contact with the archers and to get their feedback or questions on FITA’s activities. The archers will be able to fill in an online questionnaire related to the World Cup.   FITA will be also promoting its new web TV: www.archery.tv. There will be a contest with attracting prizes for those who register on www.archery.tv in Nimes. FITA will also propose its merchandising at the booth and especially its successful World Cup 2006 DVD and FITA "1400 Club" Polo.   The 10th edition of the Nimes Tournament will welcome more than 1000 Elite, Senior and Junior archers from more than 20 countries who will compete in both the Recurve and Compound bow categories. Among the participants are some Olympic and World Champions and some World Cup Finalists, such as Korean Chung Jae Hun, Italians Michele Frangilli and Elena Tonetta, Belgian Gladys Willems, French Valérie Fabre, and Swedish Morgan Lundin and Magnus Petersson.   The seniors will shoot 2x18m qualifications on trispots (4 ends of 3 arrows), but the best 32 Recurve Women, Recurve Men, Compound Women and Compound Men (=128 archers) will be qualified for the finals. Those not taking part in the finals will continue in a secondary event.   For their part, the juniors -girls and boys- will shoot 2x18m Qualifications on 60 cm target faces (4 ends of 3 arrows) for those under 15 years old and 40 cm for those under 19. The 16 best scores of each category will qualify for the finals.   The event will start on Friday with the official practice from 15h30 to 17h30 followed by the first qualification round at 18h00. On Saturday, the competition will continue at 07h45 with the other rounds of qualification.
