Utah Winter Games Ski Archery next weekend Lausanne – 12 March 2007   The Utah Winter Games Ski Archery event has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 17th at Soldier Hollow. The Utah Biathlon Club will also be hosting an air rifle event the same day, so participants will have an opportunity to do both races for a single entry fee!   This event combines Nordic ski racing with target archery.  Participants complete multiple laps on skis, pausing to shoot a bow and arrows at targets between laps in both standing and kneeling postures. This is a timed endurance event, and penalties are assessed for missed shots. Kids, Novice, and Recreational participants do not have to carry archery equipment while skiing. Bows and arrows are stationed in the shooting range.   Prior archery experience is not required to participate; however, those that have never participated in a prior archery biathlon event are required to attend one of the free orientation clinics prior to the event. US Archery Biathlon provides loaner equipment for both the clinics and competition. Participants needing to borrow archery equipment need to make the request at the time of registration. Registration MUST take place before March 16th at 8:00PM via the registration link at the bottom of this page.    Venue:  Soldier Hollow Biathlon Stadium, Midway, Utah   Format: There are four classes of competition: Kids, Novice, Recreational, and Open*. Each has a different degree of difficulty determined by overall course distance and target difficulty. Age groups for both male and female are: 5-7, 8-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over. This is an interval start event.
