Judges Re-accreditation 2007-2009
Lausanne – 12 April 2007
Dear FITA Judges, dear Member Associations, dear Continental Associations,
Please find below the application forms to be completed by the Judges, the Member Associations and the Continental Associations that must be sent back to the FITA Office (by email, fax or mail) before 1 May 2007. Re-accreditation 2007 - FORM A Re-accreditation 2007 - FORM B Re-accreditation 2007 - FORM C Re-accreditation 2007 - TEST
FITA Judges are required to fill in Form A. According to art. 6.1.3 (Book 1, App. 4), the accreditation of FITA Judges must be supported by their National Federation and Continental Association. Member Associations and Continental Association are therefore requested to fill in the relevant forms (Form B and Form C, respectively).
Find also enclosed the text of the re-accreditation test as per art. 6.1.4, 1st bullet (Book 1, App. 4). FITA Judges (FITA International Judges, FITA International Judge Candidates and FITA Accredited Continental Judges) are required to reply to the questions within the same deadline mentioned above. We would also like to remind that in order to get the maximum score in each of the questions the judges should provide as much information as they can.
Re-accredited for next period 2007-2009 depends on fulfilling several requirements listed in art. 6.1 (Book 1, App. 4). Basically they are:
a) regularly responding to cases studies (art. 6.1.1)
b) making themselves available for FITA services (art. 6.1.2)
c) asking to be reaccredited with the support of MA and CA – forms attached (art. 6.1.3);
d) pass the written re-accreditation test attached to this document (art. 6.1.4, 1st bullet);
e) having a positive evaluation from the chairpersons of the tournament judge commissions and/or from the Judge Committee observer (art. 6.1.4, 2nd bullet)
According to the new rules approved by FITA Council in December 2004, two categories of judges are accredited by FITA: FITA International Judges (FITA-IJ) and FITA Accredited Continental Judges (FITA-CJ). To receive (or to be confirmed in) the FITA International Judge status the requirements to be fulfilled are more severe (see art. 8.1 and 8.2). The Judges accredited that do not fulfil the requirements of art. 8.1 and 8.2 will be considered FITA Accredited Continental Judges. The present position of FITA International Judge Candidate is equivalent to the new position FITA-CJ.
Please note that if Congress accepts the new Appendix 4, it will be effective as of 6 July 2007. In such case the new age limit will become effective for all FITA Judges.
We remain at your disposal for any question you may have, and in the meantime wish the Judges good luck in their test!
Best regards,
The FITA Judge Committee
