25 mai 2007 - Le Salvador peut être fier de Jimenez et Lara (anglais)

Jimenez and Lara make El Salvador proud El Salvador - 25 May 20007   Jorge Jimenez and Renato Lara have made El Salvador proud of their outstanding results in archery in the last few weeks. Jimenez is now the number one archer in the world ranking and in the 2007 World Cup ranking after winning the gold medal in Ulsan, Korea and the silver medal in Varese, Italy. He ranked third in the World Cup Finals in Mexico last year.     Renato Lara became the first Latin American archer to shoot 1400 points in the Men Compound division at the ALBA Games recently held in Venezuela with scores of 342, 347, 351 and 360 points at each of the distances. Very few archers in the world have reached this score or higher. The present world record stands at 1414.   Jimenez and Lara will probably be the top two archers in a very strong Compound team from El Salvador in Leipzig, Germany (Outdoor World Championships in July 2007). The third member of the team will be either Rigoberto Hernandez or Roberto Hernandez, who shot 1374 and 1371 respectively in Venezuela two weeks ago.   Sergio Font FITA International Judge
