"LET YOUR EYES SMILE", official song of Leipzig World Championships
Lausanne
“After I attended a training session of our national team, I got the feeling that I had to write a song representing the flowing movements of archery”, Matthias Staller said. “I wanted the antique roots of the sport to appear. Among other things, this is shown in the verses by the flute and kettledrums to add style and elegance to the World Championships song”.
The lyrics of the song tell the story of a person upset with daily constraints. He would like to let himself go and get enthusiastic again in order for his eyes to shine and “smile” again! The ones that are able to let things go are rewarded at the end with cheerful eyes. It was important for the German artist to compose a modern music with antique roots representing the fluidity and elegance of the shooting. Rather calm in the verses (preparation and release of the arrow), the force of the arrow reaching the target can be then felt in the chorus, which is stronger and sounds more like rock.
With this mix of antique and modern features, Matthias Staller hopes that the song will be popular with a wide audience, from the youngest to the oldest. So “LET YOUR EYES SMILE” archery fans!
