Korean men after more archery gold in men's individual

The Korean trio of IM Dong-Hyun, PARK Kyung-Mo and LEE Chang-Hwan won the archery men's team event on Monday, and each is hoping to become their country's first men's individual Olympic gold medallist. Competition gets underway at 10:00 on Wednesday 13 August at the Olympic Green Archery Field.
Favourites
Ø IM, PARK and LEE are expected to advance to the men's 1/8 individual elimination round. PARK led the Koreans in the ranking round with a score of 676 points and is the No. 4 seed. IM is the No. 8 seed, while LEE is seeded 10.

Ø Mexico's Juan Rene SERRANO photo surprised the field by placing first in the ranking round, and has to be considered a favourite for the gold. SERRANO was second at the 2007 World Cup Final in Dubai but is still considered a relative newcomer to the international archery scene.
Ø The Italian duo of Ilario DI BUO (the No. 9 seed) and Marco GALIAZZO (No. 12) will be looking to advance to the top 16 after earning a team silver medal on Monday. GALIAZZO is the defending Olympic individual champion, while DI BUO recently won the individual gold medal at the 2008 World Cup in Dominican Republic.

Ø Baljinima TSYREMPILOV (RUS), the No. 6 seed, is expected to move through to the top 16. TSYREMPILOV is the 2007 World Cup Final champion and the 2008 European champion.
Ø After a 16-year absence from the Olympics, Simon TERRY (GBR) placed an impressive seventh in the ranking round. TERRY is the individual bronze medallist from Barcelona 1992.
Ø The United States of America will pin its hopes on Brady ELLISON. ELLISON, the No. 15 seed, has a silver medal from the 2008 World Cup in Turkey.
