ArcheryGB looking for an Olympic Coach Lilleshall (GBR) – 1 September 2009   Archery GB—the governing body for the sport of archery in Great Britain and Northern Ireland—is looking for an Olympic Coach who will be working toward British success at the London 2012 Olympic Games. There has never been a more exciting time to work in British sport.   Based at the Lilleshall National Sports Archery Centre, Nr Telford, ArcheryGB is the national governing body for the Olympic sport of archery and is going through nothing short of a revolutionary change as we embark on one of the most exciting times in the history of our sport. The GB programme, preparing Britain’s Olympic archery team, is managed by ArcheryGB through the Archery Performance Unit.    As a critical part of the continued growth, we are inviting applications for the position of GB Olympic Coach. This position is a full time permanent post dedicated toward driving Britain’s strategy toward international success in the short and long term.  The successful candidate will lead the senior elite programme along with a strong team of sport science experts and administrators that makes up the GB Performance team.   The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:   Ø A minimum of 5-10 years experience coaching within a national team environment, particularly with a Recurve focus Ø A proven record of success in producing world class athlete performance, particularly at the world championships and Olympic Games level Ø A clear understanding of annual planning and periodisation principles in the sport of archery Ø Formal coaching credentials in the sport of archery from a recognised educational institution or national coaching education body Ø A strong command of the English language   The Olympic Coach's salary will depend upon experience.
