Brazil’s Graziela Paulino dos Santos continued her impressive form in Santiago, defeating local favourite Javiera Andrades at the second stage of the Grand Prix of the Americas – adding a world ranking event title to the South American Championships gold she won the day before.

The 153rd-ranked dos Santos, part of Brazil’s recurve women’s team’s silver medal win at the Medellin 2025 South American Open Championships, delivered a dominant 6-0 victory with ends of 26, 30 and 27 in the recurve women’s individual final.

The double gold in Santiago marks her first individual wins since her title at the XI Juegos Suramericanos 2018 World Ranking Event

Otherwise, the final day of the world ranking event belonged to El Salvador, that claimed five gold medals two of them courtesy of Oscar Ticas.

The 76th-ranked Ticas showed strong fighting spirit and composure under pressure to overcome Toral Pérez Pablo Ricardo 6-4 in a thrilling recurve men’s individual final, where lead kept exchanging hands.

The win is his first gold of the season, following a silver medal at the first leg of the Grand Prix of the Americas at San Salvador. He also paired with Jocelyn Urias to win the recurve mixed team gold against Brazil, in Santiago.

The compound men's final produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the day. Chile's 114th-ranked Alejandro Patricio Martin Arriagada opened with back-to-back perfect 30s and appeared an outright winner – until El Salvador's Douglas Vladimir Nolasco responded with a perfect 30 in the final end to Martin Arriagada's 28, sealing the title by a single point, 145-144.

El Salvador’s most decorated archer Roberto Hernandez missed out on individual bronze medal going down to Ecuador’s Mateo Sebastian Oleas Rodriguez in a tie-breaker but made up for it in the team events.

The world number 31 paired with Sofia Paiz to clinch the mixed team title, and combined with Vladimir Nolasco and Miguel Angel Veliz to win the men’s team gold.

Ecuador's Blanca Maritza Rodrigo Bueno – the 19-year-old who topped the qualification with a career-best 699 – edged Peru's Beatriz Aliaga Hurtado 145-143 in a tightly contested compound women's final. Aliaga Hurtado had triumphed in the South American Championships a day earlier but failed to repeat the result at the Grand Prix of the Americas.

The home team had reason to celebrate, too.

Chile’s recurve men's team of Andres Aguilar, Andres Gallardo and Ángel Moises Vega Valdivia defeated El Salvador 6-2 for the gold medal, while Javiera Del Río Cubillos, Aurora Olea Prado and Mariana Paz Vincench Pasten combined to pip El Salvador 218-217 in the compound women's team gold medal match.
