The individual competition at the Tlaxcala 2026 Pan American Championships shot down to the final fours in each category on Friday 26 June, with both compound and recurve individual finals scheduled for Sunday.

Three defending champions from the 2024 Pan American Championships remain in the mix: Matias Grande in recurve men and Casey Kaufhold in recurve women. Grande will face Eric Peters of Canada in the first semi, with a huge clash in the other between Brady Ellison and Marcus D’Almeida. The four men were seeded 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Kaufhold will face another Canadian, Virginie Chénier in the first semi, while her teammate Jennifer Mucino will take on hometown hope Angela Ruiz

Chenier made her debut as a junior all the way back in 2008 and took a bronze medal at the champs here in 2024, while Ruiz was part of the remarkable Mexican team that won bronze at Paris 2024.

Compound women will see top seed Alejandra Usquiano against defending champion Alexis Ruiz, with Colombian legend Sara Lopez against Mexico’s Adriana Castillo in the other semi.

Castillo, the tenth seed, defeated world number one Andrea Becerra in the quarterfinals to book her place in the finals, while the Colombians, along with Mariana Rodriguez, broke the Americas record in qualification with 2124, just two points shy of the world record.

Compound men will see Isaac Sullivan of the USA against 2019 Pan Am Games champion Roberto Hernandez of El Salvador, with the winner facing the winner of Andrew Fagan of Canada and Gaius Carter of the USA.

Competition continues on Saturday with mixed team and barebow finals.
