Quotes of Finals World Cup Stage 4 in Shanghai

Recurve Men   IM Dong-Hyun (KOR) – individual gold medal and team bronze medal I have competed since I was in high school ages and I feel fortunate to always have had success. Of course I always worked hard for it. Now I have built a lot of experience and it served me in such gold final. Although I have already won a lot of gold medals in my life I don’t feel like I am the Roger FEDERER of archery. However, I think we have one goal in common: winning the individual gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games.  Jayanta TALUKDAR (IND) – team gold (and before the individual bronze medal match) We felt pretty good on this final field. It is not as difficult as the one over the water in Porec, Copenhagen or the one on the beach in Antalya. Still it looks nice.   I have beaten GALIAZZO two times in final matches, but he won our last encounter in Copenhagen last year. So I am looking for revenge. Moreover in 2010, I haven’t won any individual medal, so now it is the time I hope. (redaction note: TALUKDAR won.)   Recurve Women   KI Bo-Bae (KOR) – three gold medals in individual, team and mixed team! Although I am young athlete, I feel like I have already worked very hard to get to this level. So I am very happy that today I am rewarded with three gold medals at a World Cup. We still have a long season ahead of us with the World Cup Final and in November the Asian Games, which are very important for us. My ultimate goal would be to win two gold medals (individual and team) at the Asian Games   Compound Men   Shaun TEASDALE (NZL) - individual gold medal I must say I surprised myself by winning this gold medal. Of course I was hoping for it but I wasn’t expecting it. The most difficult was to keep my nerves during the matches this week and especially in the semifinal and final. Now that I have won, I might as well shoot for two other gold medals at the World Cup Final in Edinburgh and the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi! Of course, from wishes from reality there is a lot to be done!   Clint FREEMAN (AUS) – team gold medal Good to come back and win! I haven’t come to a World Cup for about two years. It is a great lead-up to the Commonwealth Games, too. It was a long drawn out process from January until the last World Cup in Ogden to know who made the Australian team.   I took a bit of break the last two years, but I really wanted to come back for the Commonwealth Games. It is great that we will put archery out there for the Commonwealth Countries to see it!  Compound Women   Danielle BROWN (GBR) – bronze medal and competes usually in para-archery! It is pretty exciting to be at a World Cup and much unexpected to win a medal. It is also a good preparation for the Commonwealth Games, where I will compete again with the able-bodied athletes.   I started archery because of my disability. I used to do a lot of other sports but I did not know so much about Paralympics. I thought archery is a sport I would always be able to do. First it was just a hobby. I never imagined I would reach such a high level. Nicky HUNT (GBR) – individual gold medal Of course, you get nervous when you were leading two sets to love and suddenly you play a fifth set and then a one-arrow tie-break! However you can’t let it come on your nerves and you must keep your composure. I hope it was a good show and it makes this win even better, especially after getting two silver medals at the first two World Cup stages.   I am really looking forward to the World Cup Final in Edinburgh at home – I remember the home crowd spirit and all the cheering at the Dover World Cup Stage in 2007. I am also looking forward to the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. It is a huge matter in our country!   Jamie VAN NATTA (USA) – team gold medal That’s two win in a row with the one in Ogden so that’s great! Moreover this week I qualified for the World Cup Final in Edinburgh! I always wanted to go there as I was told the region his beautiful. I will extend my stay a little there and have a well-deserved vacation after a long season of archery. I am happy that FITA qualified eight archers to the Final. I think there is so much talent in the sport that it is good to showcase it more, with more archers in the Final.    Didier MIEVILLE World Archery Communication
