World Archery Fan Reporters to Edinburgh and Porec
World Archery Fan Reporters to Edinburgh and Porec Lausanne – 14 September 2010 SONG Jia Yi, Cedric ROGER (FITA TV), ZHU Tian Shun
This season World Archery introduced a new volunteer media programme called Archery Fan Reporter (AFR) in their major events. The reporters developed daily stories (3-5 minutes in length) about aspects of major archery international events that were posted on www.archery.tv. The four selected reporters Melis BAGATIR (TUR), Robert HANSON (USA), ZHU Tian Shun and SONG Jia Yi (CHN) posted 20 videos on the ArcheryTV on YouTube that have been viewed more than 42,000 times so far. The reporters were helped by the expertise of Hit the Roof Sarl, which ensures the TV production of the archery broadcasts. Finally the pool of 2010 AFR was judged by a FITA review panel and the two Chinese candidates were declared the winners. Melis BAGATIR with Al WILLS (GBR)
The videos are very much appreciated on www.archery.tv with comments such as: "The idea of the Archery Fan Reporters is just awesome!" and "I love it. It’s really good and gives a great sense of the whole shooting atmoshpere." For the first time in history, an AFR gave all inside-out of the world field championships in Visegrad, Hungary in July 2010. Melis BAGATIR from Turkey was the first one to take this role. Then, 30-year old Robert HANSON (USA) took the role at the World Cup Stage 3 in Ogden, USA in August. HANSON attended Yale University and majored in Arts. He then moved to Los Angeles for Film School. He graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2009 with a Master's of Fine Arts (MFA) in film production. During his time at USC, he was also a collegiate archery All-American, and won several state and regional collegiate archery titles. Robert HANSON
