Twenty-two coaches trained in Singapore
Lausanne – 27 September 2010
After the Youth Olympic Games in August, archery keeps developing in Singapore. In collaboration with FITA and the Olympic Solidarity a level 1 coaching course was held on 9-15 September 2010.
This course was mainly funded by the Olympic Solidarity through the Olympic Council of Asia. It was conducted by the FITA Development and Education Director, Mr Pascal COLMAIRE, who took advantage of this opportunity to see a national tournament, visit the archery facilities of some clubs, and attend a meeting between the Singapore Sports Council and the Archery Association of Singapore.
The intensive seven training days were attended with enthusiasm by the twenty-two participants (including one from Indonesia). They should contribute to the expansion of our sport in their country. A written evaluation of the candidates is under process.
The closing ceremony of this course was honoured by the new bronze medallist in mixed team at the Youth Olympique Games, Mr Abdud Dayya MOHAMED JAFFAR from Singapore.
