6 October 2010 - Robin Hood back today on DVD!

Robin Hood back today on DVD! Lausanne – 6 October 2010  World Archery congratulates the French Archery Federation (FFTA) on a new initiative. FFTA has launched a partnership action joining forces with Universal Pictures on the release of the Robin Hood DVD on 6 October 2010. A good chance to promote archery among the general public and have members of French clubs win DVDs.   The release in cinemas of the Robin Hood movie by Ridley SCOTT in spring was on everyone's mind: opening of the Cannes Festival, important promotion in French media with the participation of the movie stars Russell CROWE and Cate BLANCHETT. The movie, box office number 1 when it was released, totalled more than two millions admissions.

With the promotion campaign of the discovery licence "On your Bows", FFTA raffled movie tickets in a contest held on its website www.ffta.fr. For the DVD release today, archery fans can win DVDs of the film on the shooting line through activities organised in French clubs on the Robin Hood theme.

Club managers can take advantage of discovery days in October, of the start of new members, of the opening of new archery schools to organise special "Robin Hood" entertainments. To announce their participation, they can download the poster, visit the FFTA's website or ask for it from the FFTA Communication Service. The theme could be costume dress, held in an archery game or on the club's field with a contest for the most beautiful arrow … and why not a Robin Hood???

To win a DVD, a photo report of the Robin Hood activity should be made and sent as quickly as possible to FFTA with a selection of the ten best pictures to illustrate the day, together with commentaries.

At the same time as the Robin Hood days, a flyer to promote the practice of archery within FFTA affiliated clubs will be inserted in 100,000 DVDs on sale in the shops.

Finally, a game contest organised by Universal Pictures during the DVD promotion campaign will raffle 10 prizes of 4 initiation sessions in an affiliated club. The labelled clubs were requested as a matter of priority to reply positively to the promotion and all other interested clubs should make contact with FFTA.   Information to FFTA Communication Service: Laurence FRERE – l.frere@ffta.fr – Phone: +33 (0)1 48 12 12 25 Line SOREL – l.sorel@ffta.fr - Phone: +33 (0)1 48 12 19 80   World Archery Communication Source FFTA
