Copenhagen will host the 2015 World Championships
Istanbul – 13 November 2010
The International Archery Federation (FITA) Council Meeting in Istanbul decided to award the 2015 World Archery Championships to Copenhagen (DEN). The World Archery Indoor Championships 2012 have also been attributed to Las Vegas (USA) and World Archery Youth Championships 2013 to Wuxi (CHN).
Copenhagen was in competition with the city of Rzeszow (POL) for the world championships. Copenhagen hosted the World Cup Final in 2009, while Rzeszow organised the 2009 World Indoor Championships. Both bids made impressive presentations to the Council and then the members proceeded to a vote. The World Archery Championships 2015 were awarded to Copenhagen.
