FITA Judges' Committee annual meeting in Malta Lausanne – 18 November 2010 The FITA Judges' Committee held their annual meeting on 6-7 November 2010 in Malta. The meeting treated several matters such as the review of some rules and bylaws to be presented to the FITA Council. Chairman Morten B. WILMANN met together with Committee Member Dion BUHAGIAR and Committee Liaison Séverine FREYMOND. Member Sergio FONT was excused. The meeting treated several matters such as the review of some rules and bylaws to be presented to Council, the update of the Judge Guide Book, discussions about changing various judging procedure and the preparation of the 2011 Congress and the next Newsletter. During the meeting, it was also decided to award five judges with honorific titles: Ø Judge Committee Award to Jean-Pierre GABARRET (FRA) and Miroslav VILLI (CRO) Ø Emeritus title to Alojz MAUSER (CRO) and Pol NEY (LUX) Ø Honorary title to Marty SWANSON (USA) With these distinctions, the Judge Committee wants to thank those judges for their many years of service as International Judges. In addition to this, the committee has upgraded 12 judges from IJC status to IJ status. The new FITA International Judges are: Marco CATTANI (ITA), Hossein NASIRINEJAD (IRI), Davood NEMATINIA (IRI), Kam-Ming YU (HKG), Shinji EGASHIRA (JPN), James LARVEN (AUS), Karen O’MALLEY (AUS), Tsung-Yi WU (TPE), Mi-Ja JUNG (KOR), Andreas HEGEDUS (HUN), Randall JONES (CAN) and Carla CABRERA (PHI). The Committee Members have also worked on the assignment for the 2011 events, including the judges appointed for the Olympic test event, which was approved by the FITA Council the weekend after.
