1 April 2011 - Recurve will shoot 10m on 1 April 2011

Recurve will shoot 10m on 1 April 2011 Lausanne – 1 April 2011   FITA under pressure from athletes changes shooting distance.   The FITA Secretary General made the following press statement: "Since we had many recurve and compound archers saying that it was not fair that as of 1 April this year the compound are going to shoot 50m and the recurve 70m, FITA decided that to please everyone as of 1 April the recurve archers will shoot at 10m."   "At Sportaccord in London FITA will discuss the impact of this with LOCOG since all venue plans will need modification as the Olympics are very close. There is even talk to move the venue to the shooting facility since they also shoot at 10m."   We hope that many people will see the fun part of this very serious decision coming into effect on 1 April 2011!   World Archery Communication
