Experience prevailed in Antalya GP
Lausanne – 18 April 2011
With the difficult windy conditions in April in Antalya, experienced archers prevailed in the Grand Prix such as Marco GALIAZZO (ITA), Alison WILLIAMSON (GBR), Sergio PAGNI (ITA) and upraising Laura LONGO (ITA).

In Recurve Men, the 2004 Olympic Champion GALIAZZO beat Thomas AUBERT (FRA) – 2009 world silver team medallist – the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Bair BADENOV (RUS). In team, the veteran trio GODFREY-WILLS-TERRY (GBR) beat the 2008 Olympic silver team medallist GALIAZZO – DI BUO – NESPOLI. Netherland was 3rd.
In Recurve Women, two alumni from the Barcelona 1992 Games met in the final: WILLIAMSON beat Natalia VALEEVA (ITA). Inna Stepanova (RUS) took third place. The youth however did prevail in the team event: Russia – Poland – Germany.
In Compound Men, two times World Cup Final winner PAGNI won over teammate Herian BOCCALI (ITA) and Vladas SIGAUSKAS (LTU).
In Compound Women, the young but bronze medallist at the 2009 worlds Laura LONGO beat none the less than the last two world champion: Albina LOGINOVA (RUS) and Eugenia SALVI (ITA).
There was no team event in Compound, except for Mixed Teams. In this category Italy took gold, ahead of Russia and Lithuania.
In Recurve Mixed Team, Germany prevailed over Russia and Denmark.
