New world records in the compound cadet division Lausanne – 31 May 2011  In the compound cadet women's category Danielle WENTZEL from South Africa set a new world record for the 50m Round with 675 points, beating the previous mark by eight points. On the male side Mike SCHLOESSER from the Netherlands beat four world records within one month!   Joining the elite archers of the world for a second time, Danielle WENTZEL photo shot a score of 1403 in the 144-Arrow FITA Round in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday 21 May 2011, entering her into the national record books. She is one of the few women who have shot a score of 1400+ out of a possible 1440. She then went onto 50m Round (72 arrows) on 22 May and set a new world record with 675 points. The previous record of 667 was held by the American Paige PEARCE since the Arizona Cup in Phoenix, USA in April 2011.     Mike SCHLOESSER, aged 17, has set four new world records in compound cadet men between April and May 2011. He first set new marks at 50m and in the 50m Round (72 arrows) with 353 and 702 points on 16 and 17 April in Almere, Netherlands. On the same weekend, the Dutchman also broke his own record for the 144-Arrow FITA Round with 1409 points (previous was 1406). One month later in Purmerend, Netherlands he increased his score once again reaching 1414! This was the third time SCHLOESSER breached the mythical 1400-barrier. One week later in another tournament held in his country—in Haaksbergen—SCHLOESSER beat another world record: at 70m he scored 351, one point higher than the previous mark of Yiftach SWERY (NZL) back in 2008.   Congratulations to the young athletes Danielle WENTZEL and Mike SCHLOESSER for their fantastic accomplishments!   World Archery Communication
