Team Italy for World Archery Championships announced Turin – 28 June 2011   The team that will represent the host country Italy at the World Archery Championships 2011 Turin in July was presented on the occasion of a press conference at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin on 23 June 2011.   In the presence of Tiziana NASI, President of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Turin 2011, Franco FERRARESI, representing the Sport Piedmont, Mario SCARZELLA, President of the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) and European Archery Union (EMAU), Ardingo SCARZELLA, Sport Director of the event, the Officials of the Italian team Gigi VELLA and of the Para-Archery team Marco PEDRAZZI presented the athletes who will compete for the host country:   Recurve Men Marco GALIAZZO (individual gold in Athens 2004 and team silver in Beijing 2008), Michele FRANGILLI and Mauro NESPOLI   Recurve Women Natalia VALEEVA, Guendalina SARTORI and Jessica SARTORI   Compound Men Sergio PAGNI, Pietro GRECO (from Turin) and Herian BOCCALI   Compound Women Laura LONGO, Eugenia SALVI and Marcella TONIOLI   Para-Archery Elisabetta MIJNO (from Turin), Oscar DE PELLEGRIN, Marco VITALE, Mario ESPOSITO, Alberto SIMONELLI, Vittorio BARTOLI, Mariangela PERNA, Veronica FLORENO, Angelo CACCIARI, Ezio LUVISETTO, Ifigenia NERI, Mirko BENETTI, Santina PERTESANA, Lorenza SCHIEDA, Roberta CASCIO, Fabio AZZOLINI and Gabriele FERRANDI From left to right: Marco PEDRAZZI, Natalia VALEEVA, Mario    SCARZELLA, Marco GALIAZZO, Sergio PAGNI, Elisabetta MIJNO        "The World Archery Championships in Turin will be very important for us," said Mario SCARZELLA. "Not just for the world titles, but for London 2012. The qualification is here, the alternative is a very small chance in USA. For the qualification we've to enter among the first eight teams and we know it won't be easy. Thanks to the officials, I know they worked hard and they did well. In the last four Olympic Games Italians did very well, they always got medals.
