16 July 2011 - Flash Quotes from the Elimination Rounds

Flash Quotes from the Elimination Rounds Turin – 16 July 2011   Today was the elimination rounds for all individual categories. We asked some impressions to people present on the field.  Tiziana NASI (ITA) – President of the Organising Committee and President of the Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation (FISIP) This weeks were amazing, mainly because we host both the World Championships and the World Para Championships. It was like having just one long event. It is a pity we had such a bad weather, especially during the Para, creating some difficulties on the field. However everybody has been very impressed. What made this event grand is the fact that it was well organised. Setting the Para Championships in the Hunting Residence only made things easier, both for the athletes and the Organising Committee. It is a pity we did not have a lot of spectators, but we have to remember it is July and people are on holiday already. I think we could not expect more than we had! I hope the Italians will gain some more Paralympic quota places in the next event in September.   Mikhail DIKTOVANNYY (RUS) I like being here. Even in Russia my teammate and I shoot against each other, like I have just done against Zubar ALEXANDR (RUS). But here the winner shows that he shoots at a higher level. ALEXANDR won in the shoot-off and we both scored a 10, so we are both shooting at a high level!   Jean Pierre ANTONIOS (FIN) I did not shoot well, even though I won. Sunshine rose and my arrows rose as well. I had to take it into consideration. Well, actually everything has to be taken into consideration: the sun, the rain, even the clouds.   Ainara BADIOLA (ESP) I shot my first matches very well and I felt calm. I was calm while I was shooting against the Turkish and I won 6-0. Then when I shot against Danielle BROWN (GBR) I lost 2-6 but I shot well. Apart from the set system, I scored 107 points and Danielle 108. It is just a matter of a single point!   David DRAHONINSKY (CZE) We have been working hard all the year round for this competition. Especially we did all we could to arrive to the finals and win a title. I do not know how it would be, but I wish good luck to everybody.   Dajana PICCOLO, Rebecca RABOZZI World Archery Communication
