Two Koreans in the lead!

The Cadet Men were the only recurve category on the field today. PARK Seong Cheol and LEE Seungyun from Korea led the qualifications, ahead of WANG Yuan-Ching (TPE).
A FITA Round served as qualifications at the cadet distances. This means the young athletes (turning 17 at maximum during the year) shoot 4x 36 arrows at 70, 60, 50 and 30 metres.
Recurve Cadet Men
PARK was the most consistent archer, ranking 6th at 70 metres (324 points), 2nd at 60m (335 points), 5th at 50m (325 points) and 4th at 30m (353 points). He reached a total of 1337 points. LEE was the best at 60m (337) and at 30m (357), but he was only 22nd at 70m (315). He ranked 6th at 50m (323) for a total of 1332 points. In 3rd place, WANG scored 1330, two more than Yuki KAWATA (JPN). The rest of the pack was not far behind as Klemen STRAJHAR (SLO) achieved 1325 points, CHOI Jea Hwan, 1320, and Lucas DANIEL (FRA), 1318. Sjef VAN DEN BERG (NED) scored 1314 to stay in the top 8, while Binod SWANSI (IND) had 1313 for 9th place. Only the top 8 are pre-seeded in the 1/16 eliminations. The archers ranked 9th to 104th enter into the 1/48 eliminations that will be shot on Thursday.
Recurve Cadet Men Team
Korea was naturally 1st in the team event. The three archers scored a total of 3989 points. The Koreans built up a gap of more than 100 points over the 2nd placed India, who had 3886. Slovenia was a surprising 3rd with 3880, ahead of China and the Polish hosts!
The cut is at 16th for the team event to enter the elimination matches. Austria took the last spot with 3748, six more than Ukraine who ended at the 17th place.
The Recurve Junior Men, Junior Women and Cadet Women will shoot their qualifications tomorrow.
