IWGA Executive Committee evaluates shortlist for The World Games 2017 Colorado Springs (USA) – 5 September 2011 The Executive Committee (ExCo) of the International World Games Association (IWGA) qualified the bidding documents of the three candidate host cities for the 10th edition of the multi-sport event in 2017 as "top-level bids". At its meeting in Cali, Colombia, the ExCo decided to place Budapest (HUN), Cape Town (RSA) and Wroclaw (POL) on the shortlist for The World Games (TWG) in six years' time. On the occasion of the ExCo meeting in Cali, Colombia, where The World Games 2013 will be staged, the members analysed the three bids under the guidance of IWGA President Ron FROEHLICH. Moreover, they were informed about the results of the visit to the three candidate host cities by President Ron FROEHLICH and CEO Joachim GOSSOW. Afterwards, the board worked out a list of questions for further information from the Candidate Cities. In addition, the board will ask the 33 member federations of the IWGA about their general preferences for their sport in selecting a candidate city to host TWG 2017. "All the three cities comply with our requirements for a host city to the highest extent", explained Ron FROEHLICH. A second ExCo Meeting to evaluate the candidate cities’ Bid Applications and to analyse the additional requested information will follow on 12 and 13 November 2011 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The final Bidders’ Presentations and Q&A Sessions will take place 11 and 12 January 2012 in Lausanne. About noon on 12 January the IWGA President will announce the Host City of The World Games 2017.
