Pippa BRITTON and HAN Seung Hoon were not present. The British lady was competing in the Paralympic Test Event this week in London. Alison WILLIAMSON the former chair also joined for the start of the meeting to share her experience. And the World Archery Secretary General Tom DIELEN attended the meeting as well.
It was a very open discussion and the meeting discussed several important matters such as:
Ø Use of set system for indoor competition
Ø Election of the field representative
Ø Introduction of electronic scoring and heart rate measurement
Ø Issues related to judging and the new indoor compound target
Ø Use of Facebook, Twitter and the Olympic Hub
Ø Olympic Quota places and should the balance be on teams or individuals?
Ø Issues related to refusal of quota places obtained by athletes
Ø The future of Olympics and Compound Bow
Ø Invitation places and the fact that the countries eligible were too restrictive
Ø Matters related to wind and timing including a need for as much as possible competitions in ABC
Ø Changing the habit of a break after sixth end for a 70m or 50m Round
