First medals awarded at the London Paralympic Test Event
Recurve Men Standing Medallists
Day 2 from the Royal Artillery Barracks brought more of the same cold, wet weather to the Para Archery Test Event. The recurve women W1/W2 category started the day of head-to-head matches with XIAO from China taking the gold over SINISALO of Finland, 7-1. KIM of Korea was the next gold medallist beating GAO of China, 6-2 in recurve women standing. The afternoon matches saw SAWICKI of Poland 6-2 win over CHENG of China in the recurve men W1/W2 class. KIM of Korea edged out SCHESTAKOV of Russia in the recurve men standing to finish out the day. World Archery and LOCOG management are exceptionally pleased at the opportunity to put this venue and all the competition elements through a full review in order to be prepared in the best possible way for the 2012 Paralympics.
