5 June 2012 - South African National Archery Association long-term development programme on iPad

South African National Archery Association long-term development programme on iPad  Lausanne – 5 June 2012   The South African National Archery Association (SANAA) has adopted the World Archery Feathers and Arrows programme as their official development programme and has made it available as an interactive guide on the iPad.   The F&A app is the full Feathers & Arrows programme as put together by World Archery. It covers all seven awards and has the same evaluation. The F&A app allows the coach and/or student to record in the notes virtually anything; and on the iPad 2 and the new iPad, even take photos (25 frames per second). This is a big advantage because the coach can have any number of students and the same corresponding number of notes – all on one iPad.    The application will be launched officially in the next few months. It works on all iPad models from the iPad 1, and can be used by any English-speaking Member Associations.   According to SANAA President, Dr Selwyn MOSKOVITZ, "The Feathers & Arrows Archery development programme is suitable for all wanting to learn how to shoot properly. The programme takes you through seven stages and aims to have the novice archer progress to the formal competition field in up to a two-year period."   "With more and more people having access to an iPad, it was a logical step to make the programme available on the devices as it offers features such as bookmarks, notes and searching, making it easier and more user-friendly for both archers and coaches to reference and use."   "We have a number of projects in the pipeline that will see more and more aids on archery available to our members and prospective archers", he added.   The interactive programme is now available as a free iBook download from iTunes.   RSA National Archery Association Edited by World Archery Communication
