Olympic Solidarity Course for Archery Coaches in the Caribbean
Lausanne
The friendly archers from the Dominican Republic are hosting a level 2 archery Coaching Course in the city of Santo Domingo; training funded by the Olympic Solidarity. The course started on 19 September 2012 in the building of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD). The opening ceremony was honoured by the presence of the President and the Secretary General of the COD, as well as the President and Secretary General of the Federation Dominicana de Tiro con Arco (FEDOTA). Let us indicate the participation to this training of the FEDOTA President, and of two candidates from Haiti. The atmosphere is almost family among about twenty participants, who will be trained during six intense days by the World Archery Development and Education Director, Mr Pascal COLMAIRE.
Archery is well progressing in the Dominican Republic. Last Sunday close to one hundred archers took part to the monthly national tournament. The current training should contribute to strengthen this progress, and assist the restart of archery in Haiti.
