World Archery Medical and Sport Sciences Committee meeting
Lausanne
The chairman Emin ERGEN (TUR), members Nancy LITTKE (CAN), Carlos HERMES (GUA), Varin TANSUPHASIRI (THA), Martin BAUER (GER), as well as Françoise DAGOURET (FRA) from SportAccord and Raheleh AHADPOUR (IRI) from World Archery office were present in this meeting.
During the two days of the meeting, the following subjects on anti-doping activities and medical and sport sciences were discussed:
· The cooperation with SportAccord on anti-doping program in particular ADAMS, In Competition and Out of Competition Testing, and Registered Testing Pool. Françoise DAGOURET reported on the number of conducted tests and World Archery anti-doping activities in 2012. She also made a review of the Code, World Archery Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), and future anti-doping programs.
· The outreach program which will be in collaboration with SportAccord.
· The injury survey which will be run during the World Archery Championships, Antalya (TUR) and World Archery Youth Championships, Wuxi (CHN).
Dr ERGEN informed the committee on the approval of the project “Effect of beta blockers on fine motor performance in Archery” by WADA. WADA will allocate 50,000 USD to fund this project.
Dr ERGEN and Dr BAUER informed the members about their experiences at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and made a report on the testing procedure of the mentioned event.
At the end Dr ERGEN thanked the committee members for their participation and the Germany Archery and Shooting Federation to host the meeting.World Archery Communiation
