Lausanne
The Assembly of the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) held its elections last weekend, marking the end of a quadriennum that culminated with the Olympic gold medal of the Italian men’s team. The World Archery Vice President Mario SCARZELLA was elected President of FITARCO for the 2013-2016 quadriennum with 94% of votes for what will be his fourth consecutive term. Paolo PODDIGE was re-elected as Vice President. Also elected as part of FITARCO’s Council were Sante SPIGARELLI, the first European archer to reach 1300 points, and Oscar DE PELLEGRIN, London 2012 individual Paralympic champion.
Following his reelection, President Mario SCARZELLA thanked the members of FITARCO for their dedicated work and the athletes for their successes.
“I am going to live my fourth term as president in the sign of continuity, but at the same time we need to develop and devote all our energy to the youth and to the project that will allow us to grow and try to maintain the standards achieved with Olympic medals gathered at five consecutive editions of the Games.”
