World Archery Judge Emeritus Gian Piero SPADA passed away

  We received the sad message that our good friend and Judge Emeritus Gian Piero SPADA from Italy passed away the other day, only 57 years old, after fighting with cancer for a long period.    Gian Piero SPADA came into judging in the beginning of the 1990-ties and served excellently at several championships culminating at the Olympics in Athens 2004.  At that time he was chairman of FITA Judge Committee (1999-2007) and decided to keep a lower profile and concentrate on the committee chairman matters, which he managed in an outstanding way.    As a person Gian Piero SPADA was very thorough and fair, and he never compromised his integrity or his duties as a FITA Judge.  We miss him.
