The new Secretary General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee comes from archery

Before being elected new Secretary General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Dr AlaaElDin (Aladin) GABR was already Member of the Board and acted as Egypt’s Delegation Official at several events, including Singapore Youth Olympic Games and London Olympic Games. He was elected last 28 February with a total of 20 votes out of 27 for the 2013-2016 quadrennial.

Through his development plan and together with the Board Members, Dr GABR hopes to witness remarkable progress for his country’s Olympic sports. The organisation of the 2022 Youth Olympic Games is also part of this ambitious plan.

As President of the Egyptian Archery Federation, Dr GABR raised the Egyptian archery at National and Continental level, and within Arab countries. At the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, Egypt won its first Olympic medal for archery with Ibrahim SABRY’s gold.

We congratulate Dr GABR for his election and wish him the best of luck with this new commitment.
