Athlete of the Week: Reo WILDE (USA)

One of the most decorated compound archers in history – outdoor and indoor world champion and World Cup Final winner –, the current world No. 1 will be the huge favourite to win the individual gold medal in Cali.
Over the last decade, Reo WILDE has earned one of the most impressive medal tally in the history of compound archery.

In 2006 he won the inaugural World Cup Final in Mexico and was nominated as the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Athlete of the Year and USOC Athlete of the Month in October.

The American is a four-time team world champion and became individual world champion in 2009 in Ulsan, Korea, twelve years after his famous father and coach Dee won the title.

Reo WILDE dominates indoor archery as much as he dominates outdoors. In early 2011, he won the Indoor World Cup Final and repeated the feat in 2012 in Las Vegas. The same week, Reo WILDE also won a double gold medal at the World Archery Indoor Championships (team and individual) for the third time, after being crowned in 2003 and 2005.

The archer from Idaho has achieved many more victories in international tournaments worldwide, including several World Cup events wins, making him one of the greatest compound archers in history.

For the first time, Reo WILDE will compete at the World Games this summer. In Cali, he will be the huge favourite to win one of the rare titles that are still missing to his collection.
