Another German shoot-off win: recurve women’s team into gold

“I will get two medals, that’s really awesome,” the grinning UNRUH said walking back from the shoot-off target. She’s guaranteed double-silver – individual and team – but would love to convert both into gold.

Elena RICHTER, who won individual gold at the first 2014 Archery World Cup stage in Shanghai, called herself a little overwhelmed: “It’s the first time this great team shoots for gold together, we’re all so happy and a bit speechless!”

All three of the German ladies agreed: it’s something in the Colombian atmosphere that lets them shoot so well at Medellin. The vibe, the music?

Whatever it is, Karina WINTER described this tournament in four short words: “our most successful yet”.

China beat Korea in a shoot-off to make the final, too – while Mexico and Korea will shoot it out for gold on Sunday morning, live on Archery TV.
