Coaching Structure and Elite Athlete Development Seminar in Malta
The World Archery Coaching Structure and Elite Athlete Development Seminar was aimed at reviewing present coaching methods used in Malta, in addition to discussing the development of an elite athlete programme.
This project was driven by a new team leading the development of archery in Malta through the Archery Association of Malta. The seminar was made possible with the support of World Archery, the Maltese Olympic Committee, and the Malta Sports council.
Conducted by World Archery Development Director Pascal COLMAIRE, the workshop was delivered using a hands-on, practical approach, tailored to the requirements of the participants.
It covered subjects like the components of high performance archery, coaching cohesion, analysing an archer’s technique and building a training plan – as well as the practical side of archery: the main technical, physical and psychological skills.
The topics addressed during the seminar provided new tools for the development of existing elite athletes in Malta. Newly gained knowledge will certainly strengthen the future development of Maltese archery.
The Archery Association of Malta would like to thank Pascal for his enthusiasm, knowledge and direction during the seminar.
