Development Director encourages Indian sports ministry to keep investing in archery
India is already one of the leading archery nations in the world, but the nation could still stand to gain – if investment in the sport’s development continues, says World Archery Development and Education Director Pascal COLMAIRE.
Working with World Archery, the Archery Association of India is to initiate a performance improvement and standardised education process for coaches in India.
Cohesion between the Indian federation, the country’s Sport Authority and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is already good.
“The next step is to generate more harmony among all levels of Indian archery, including coaches,” says Pascal.
The programme has the full support of Sports Director of the Ministry Mr Vivek NARAYAN, national archery federation Secretary General Anil KAMINENI and its Treasurer and Representative of the Sport Authority of India Mr Virendra SACHDEVA.
Pascal’s mission will see 23 entry-level coaches trained in India, another 23 coaches educated to national level and increased support to the Archery Association of India and Indian Sport Governing Bodies.
