Tripartite Commission identifies NOCs for Rio 2016 Invitation Places

As in previous Games, the International Olympic Committee has worked with International Federations to develop qualification systems which allow the best athletes in each sport to participate in the Games, but which also respect the principle of universal representation.

Universality, as specified in the Olympic Charter, is a fundamental aspect of the Olympic Games.

The primary method in which universality is respected in the qualification systems is through the continental qualification of athletes and teams.

The IOC also seeks to provide additional support with the allocation of Invitation Places through the Tripartite Commission (IOC/ANOC/ASOIF) for the Olympic Games.

Archery is allocated six spots in total for three men and three women who achieve the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) – 630 points for men and 600 for women both at 70m Round – between 26 July 2015 and 11 July 2016 at a World Archery registered event.

The concerned World Archery member associations received a mailing from the Development Department, and those that require further information/assistance can please contact Deqa Niamkey.
