Upcoming World Archery Para Championships rescheduled to February 2022

The 2021 World Archery Para Championships have been postponed until 18-27 February 2022 as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

It means that championships for para archers will be held in consecutive years as the following edition, which is scheduled for Pilsen, Czech Republic in 2023 and will act as the primary qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, remains unchanged.

Dubai will host the 2022 World Archery Para Championships at the Dubai Club for People of Determination.

A purpose-built facility for impaired athletes, it has successfully hosted multiple editions of the annual Fazza para world ranking tournament. The official hotel and dining, medical, event management and competition areas are all on-site.

When the event was awarded to Dubai in 2019, World Archery secretary general Tom Dielen called the city “the perfect host” of the championships.

Provisional dates for other events in 2021, like the Hyundai Archery World Cup, have already been announced.
