The 2024 European Championships acted as the second qualifier for the next edition of the World Games, scheduled for Chengdu in 2025, awarding six spots to the medallists in the compound events.

Denmark, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands and Türkiye all collected quotas.

It brings the total number of nations on the roster after two qualifying events to 10. Six spots were also awarded at the Pan American Championships in early April, when renowned Colombian compounder Sara Lopez’s third place booked a place at what is likely to become her fourth World Games.

Lopez won the multisport event in 2017 but lost in the final last time, in 2022, to Ella Gibson, who was just crowned European Champion.

The discipline of field archery for recurve and barebow archers has featured on the programme of the World Games since 1985. Compound was introduced in 1993 and the bowstyle’s competition switched to target archery in 2013.

Qualification for the next edition continues at continental championships into 2025.

Additional places will be awarded to the Paralympic Champions at Paris 2024 and on the world ranking at the start of the next outdoor season (early April 2025).

Qualification for the field archery events will take place at this September’s world championships.
