World Archery Knowledge Sharing communications programme expands worldwide

Athletes and officials from the Bhutan archery federation have been taking part in a funded Knowledge Sharing programme designed to develop digital communications skills within World Archery member associations.

The programme is tailored to each federation through a series of online sessions and covers strategy, social media, websites, platforms and software, imagery and graphics, video and reels, event coverage, communications for fundraising, and the use of artificial intelligence.

The sessions are delivered by an expert with many years of experience in the field and include direct tuition, interactive workshops and coursework. Follow-up calls help extend the programme and build a long-term framework for delivering high-quality communications.

It is particularly suited to smaller member associations without a dedicated communications officer or those looking to train volunteers.

Another programme is now underway with the US Virgin Islands archery federation.

The communications programme forms part of World Archery’s wider development support, which also includes education, mentoring, training camps and equipment donations aimed at strengthening participation, coaching, administration and athlete pathways.

“We want to make an impact without making participants travel across the world to access knowledge,” said World Archery head of development and education Siret Luik.

“This programme is mostly about taking experts in their field and sending them to deliver courses locally or through online mentoring.”
