Former Maltese international judge John Collins dies

In memoriam of John Collins.

John Collins, a long-serving member of the Archery Association of Malta and World Archery international judge, has passed away, the association announced on 30 September.

Born in 1949, Collins was an active archer before becoming an international official. He was appointed an international judge in 1994 and went on to officiate at competitions in Malta and abroad for many years.

His international officiating included the European Games for Small Nations in Luxembourg, where he was invited by the host federation to join the judging panel for the 2002 tournament.

Collins remained closely involved in Maltese archery throughout his career, contributing both as an athlete and an official and representing Malta’s archery community at events abroad.

World Archery extends its sincere condolences to Collins’ family, friends and colleagues, as well as to the Archery Association of Malta and the wider Maltese archery community.
